Hanging with my sweet shepherd ‘Jura’
Yoga has been such a big part of my life ever since the day my mother (who did yoga until she was in her 80’s) took me to my first yoga class, to study with her yoga teacher, when I was 16 years old. I’ve been practicing and studying both yoga and meditation now for 40+ years, and teaching it for the last 22+ years. During that time I studied with many amazing and gifted teachers but my most profound evolution and transformation came when I studied and became certified with Erich Schiffmann in 1999 in Northern CA. Training with such a master teacher really deepened my own practice and elevated my teaching to reach a whole new level.
I’m a proud mama of a beautiful daughter, Malena, who lives in Montana with her wonderful husband, Tanner, their new baby boy, McCoy, and their two beautiful shepherd pups, Kahn and Gibson. Being a single mom for so many years and raising such an strong and powerful child was part of my yogic path as well. It was very much an experience of living yoga off the mat. She still continues to be one of my greatest teachers and now I am a proud Nonie of a gorgeous baby boy McCoy.
The joy is beyond words!
I am a lover of nature and beauty!
Growing up in Marin County and Lake Tahoe, CA and my father being an avid fly fisherman, we spent a lot of time in the mountains camping and being in nature, starting at a very early age. This continued as our lifestyle all though my upbringing, getting to spend so much time in the beautiful outdoors…it’s become an intrinsic and deep source of inspiration and joy for me!
This is where I first learned about stillness, feeling it from Mother Nature, the creeks, the trees, the rocks, the moon and stars, the wildlife and animals, the majestic mountains, the beauty and stillness all around. I still spend as much time as I can with my shepherd experiencing the magic of this beautiful world we have the gift of living in.
